Police in China fined a man after discovering his wife riding on the back of his work truck. She was attempting to verify if he was being unfaithful.
It’s become common to see stories online about people investigating whether their partners are being unfaithful. Some discover secret dating app profiles, others find evidence on platforms like TikTok, and some even resort to following their partners in person.
But in China, one wife recently discovered a potential infidelity and took matters into her own hands, setting a new standard for how people are responding to suspected cheating.
According to the South China Morning Post, a woman in late March suspected her husband was having an affair, so she secretly held onto the back of his truck while he drove, hoping to discover where he was going.
Wife clung onto husband’s truck to see if he was cheating
Police stopped the truck simply because they saw a woman riding in the back.
Zu discovered his wife was secretly attached to his car, and police ended up issuing him a fine.
He was fined 200 yuan (about $30 or £22) and lost three points on his driver’s license for failing to make sure his vehicle was in good condition before driving.

Honestly, I have no idea how things are going with them since all the rumors about cheating started. It’s a really different situation than what I’m seeing with a lot of other couples right now, where everyone seems to be focused on fun dates and experiences in the city. It just feels… different.
Rather than going out for drinks or dinner, many Chinese couples are now choosing to work together delivering food.
People are now using this activity as a fun and revealing way to test the waters on first dates, according to one person. One woman shared that it’s more engaging than staying home and playing video games, and the immediate earnings make it feel genuine and satisfying.
