The livestream for Honkai: Star Rail’s 4.3 update has been announced, giving us a preview of what’s coming. We now have some details about the new playable character and where the story is headed after the events of Version 4.2. This update is a standard size and packed with content, unlike Version 4.1. Version 4.2 itself introduced two new characters and continued the main story.
There’s been a lot of information shared about the upcoming update. While it might only add one new character you can play as, the update still looks promising, particularly because of the interesting direction the story is heading. We’ve seen some returning characters with new twists appear in the Planarcadia storyline, along with fresh faces like Ashveil from Honkai: Star Rail, which has enriched both the character list and the game’s overall story. Version 4.3 will continue this trend, and we likely won’t have to wait long to see what it offers.
Honkai Star Rail 4.3 Livestream – Date & Time
While fans were guessing when the next update would arrive based on HoYoverse’s usual schedule, the company has now officially announced the date. According to a post on the official Honkai: Star Rail Instagram account, the livestream for Version 4.3 will be on May 22nd at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. The special event, “Lethe Below the Living,” will feature characters Evanescia, Mortenax Blade, and Yao Guang from Honkai: Star Rail.
Now that the livestream date is set, it’s probably safe to say the special event and the new update won’t be delayed. HoYoverse typically moves the livestream if an update is going to be postponed. Since the event is happening as scheduled, we can expect Honkai: Star Rail 4.3 to launch on June 3rd, as updates usually come out two weeks after the livestream, on Wednesdays.
What To Expect From Honkai: Star Rail 4.3 Livestream – New Character & Leaked Banners
Based on previews and beta test information from HoYoverse, Version 4.3 will introduce one new playable character: Mortenax Blade. This new version of Blade in Honkai: Star Rail follows the Path of the Nihility and deals Fire damage. Leaks suggest he’ll continue to use his signature HP-loss ability, which is connected to his backstory.
Recent leaks from Honey Hunter World suggest that Mortenax Blade’s Ultimate ability will affect all enemies in an area, weakening their defense and making them take more damage. Using this Ultimate will cost him some of his own health and put him in a unique state. While in this state, it’s rumored he’ll gain increased critical hit rate and damage, and also unlock both his regular skill and a completely new Ultimate ability.
According to leaks, Mortenax Blade’s Skill will deal Fire damage to all enemies, and then inflict additional Fire damage to four random enemies individually. He can only use this Skill when in a special state triggered by his Ultimate ability. His Talent allows him to build up charges while his Zone (similar to Cyrene’s Zone in Honkai: Star Rail) is active. By applying a debuff to enemies, he gains charges, and once he has enough, he can use his Skill again.
Based on early information, Mortenax Blade looks like a powerful, attacking character. What makes him stand out is that his damage increases with his maximum health, and he even loses health while attacking. Plus, his regular attacks draw enemy attention, suggesting he’ll be a key damage dealer and able to withstand a lot of damage for the team.
Recent leaks from Sakura Haven, shared on Reddit by KaidoPklevel, suggest that the Mortenax Blade character will be released in the first set of banners, along with a return of the Yao Guang banner. The leaks also indicate that Cyrene and Phainon will have rerun banners in the second set. While not officially confirmed, the full banner schedule will be revealed during the Honkai: Star Rail 4.3 livestream this Friday.
What To Expect From Honkai: Star Rail 4.3 Livestream – Story Updates, Events, & More
The Version 4.3 livestream will reveal details about the new character and banners, and will also give us a first look at the upcoming story updates and events. The story will likely focus more on the Stellaron Hunters and their part in the overall campaign, building on what we’ve seen in previous versions and 4.2’s events. The new playable character, Mortenax Blade, along with Silver Wolf LVL.999, suggests this shift in focus within Honkai: Star Rail.
The update will also include events with extra activities for players to enjoy even after finishing the new story content. These events will offer rewards like Stellar Jade, which can be used to get new characters and Light Cones. We’ll share all the details during the Honkai: Star Rail 4.2 livestream, so don’t miss it!
