Unfrozen Studio has released an early version of its strategy game, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, on Steam and as a Game Preview title on Xbox for PC.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is available now for $39.99, and you can get it at a 25% discount until May 13th. It’s also included with PC Game Pass! This is the first new Heroes game in over a decade, and the early access version includes a story campaign, single and multiplayer battles, an arena mode, and more. You can purchase the game on Steam and the Microsoft Store (as a Game Preview). If you’re playing on Steam Deck, you can find my thoughts on the early access release here.
As a huge fan of the Heroes series, I was so excited to see the early access launch trailer for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era! Hooded Horse just released it, along with some more details about the game, and I wanted to share where you can find it.
Fans can now play the early access version of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, the eagerly awaited turn-based strategy game. It’s available on PC through Steam, the Microsoft Store (as part of the Game Preview program), and with PC Game Pass. Hooded Horse, Unfrozen Studio, and Ubisoft are all thrilled to launch it.
After more than a decade, a brand new Heroes of Might and Magic game is here! It’s designed for both longtime fans and new players, staying true to the core gameplay that made the series so beloved. You’ll build your empire through strategy, fight exciting turn-based battles, and enjoy deep RPG elements, all set in a beautiful and dangerous world full of mysteries.
The initial early access launch includes:
- Six playable factions (Temple, Dungeon, Schism, Grove, Necropolis, and Hive), each with its own unique buildings, units, abilities, heroes, and more!
- Single-player skirmish modes, including Classic, Single Hero, Arena, and premade scenarios.
- A range of premade templates for procedurally generated maps, some with unique win conditions.
- The first act of the single-player narrative campaign, as well as a full tutorial and advanced challenges.
- Online Multiplayer for Classic, Single Hero, and Arena modes, featuring a leaderboard system and local hotseat.
- An initial beta of the Map Editor, as well as custom game lobbies that can support user-made maps.
During early access, we’ll be finishing the single-player campaign and adding more pre-built scenarios and map templates. We’re also planning to include a Spectator Mode and improve the Map Editor. Plus, we’ll be making changes and adjustments based on what players tell us. We’ll share a detailed development roadmap for early access soon.
The game has been translated into a variety of languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is currently available on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store (as a Game Preview title) for $39.99, £34.99, €39.99, or ¥3,980. It’s on sale for 25% off until May 13, 2026, and is also included with PC Game Pass.
