Season 2 of Gen V included a subtle reference to Compound V that may be connected to the upcoming series, Vought Rising. This hint appears when Thomas Godolkin is mysteriously healed after being injured, seemingly due to Marie’s abilities. The show suggests his survival of the lab fire is linked to the compound itself. Here’s a closer look at this potential clue.
How does Gen V Season 2 Episode 8 set up the Vought Rising series?
The eighth episode of Gen V Season 2, called “Trojan,” offered new information about Compound V and hinted at the future of Vought Rising. The episode showed Thomas Godolkin getting his body back thanks to Marie’s abilities. After regaining his physical form, he indulges in simple pleasures like eating and shares a close connection with Sister Sage.
While speaking, he quietly apologizes to Firecracker, revealing that he survived the 1967 lab fire at Project Odessa because of a self-administered injection of Compound V – specifically, a version known as V1. This compound was what ultimately saved his life.
He also revealed more about what V1 does: after taking it, he stopped aging, becoming both young and immortal. Besides him, Soldier Boy and Stormfront also used the compound. The season 4 finale hinted at Soldier Boy’s location, showing Homelander confronting him while he was in cryo-freeze. Stormfront, however, didn’t survive – she was severely injured and killed. This detail sets the stage for both the Vought Rising storyline and the final season of The Boys.
This satirical superhero show, created by Eric Kripke, explores the secrets of the Vought company, focusing on the 1950s. It reveals the beginnings of Soldier Boy and uncovers the dangerous plans of Stormfront within the company. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
