Final Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth stars in bizarre beer commercial

Ever wondered what Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 does when he’s not causing trouble in Midgar? Apparently, he likes to relax with a nice, lemon-flavored beer.

Sephiroth is a legendary villain in video games, first captivating players in the original Final Fantasy 7 back in 1997 and then again in the newer Remake and Rebirth games. Surprisingly, this iconic character is now ‘paying the bills’ by selling beer – a completely unexpected career move!

Okay, so this is awesome! I just found out Square Enix is working with Asahi beer to advertise their new Future Lemon Sour drink. And get this – they made a commercial that’s totally geared towards Final Fantasy fans like me! I can’t wait to see it.

Final Fantasy 7 x Ashai collab brings Sephiroth commercial & pop-up bar

A short video shows Sephiroth, the iconic villain, using his famous Masamune sword – but instead of fighting, he’s cutting lemons! The clip then shows him eating a slice of fruit and enjoying a drink.

The collaboration features a temporary pop-up bar inspired by Seventh Heaven, the bar from the game owned by Tifa and used as a base by Cloud and the Avalanche team. If you get a chance to go, you can purchase Future Lemon Sour, and Barret will even show you the proper way to enjoy it.

This unique experience is limited to just five days, from April 29th, and will only be available in the Roppongi Hills area of Japan, meaning people in the US and Europe won’t be able to attend.

Although fans might have imagined a different appearance for Sephiroth, this is likely one of the few opportunities we’ll have to see him before the last installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is released.
