A freelance web developer is gaining popularity online thanks to a website they built that allows people around the world to remotely give treats to cats using automatic feeders.
I stumbled across this really cool website called ‘Feed The Cat,’ and it’s exactly what it sounds like! You can actually donate money to release food for these adorable cats. There’s a camera set up right by the feeders, so you get to watch them eat – it’s seriously the cutest thing, watching them chow down on their food!
The developer began working on the project while out of a job, and was motivated by the popular Chinese app ‘Hello Street Cat,’ which lets users virtually feed stray cats.
It started as a simple way for its creators to check on their cat, Bishop, when they were away. But they quickly realized others might enjoy watching too! After adding features like text chat and a music radio, ‘Feed The Cat’ grew into a popular online community, now broadcasting live feeds of cats being fed from cameras all over the world.

Feed The Cat wants to expand with more rescue orgs
The person behind ‘Feed The Cat’ is adding more cameras, with a special focus on cat shelters and rescue organizations.
You can help these organizations by watching cats eat – and sharing the videos to spread the word!
If you’re concerned the cats might get overweight, don’t worry! The game’s creator added a feature that prevents them from eating too much. The game also automatically adjusts feeding schedules if food bowls are consistently left full.
Someone created a website that lets anyone online feed their cat! When you visit the site and click a button, a device dispenses food to the cat in real time. There’s even a live camera so you can watch the cat enjoy the snack you provided. And it’s not limited to just one cat…

Right now, the website mainly features cats from rescues and shelters, but it can also showcase other cats if they meet specific criteria. If you’d like to submit a cat, please reach out to the website developer directly on Telegram to learn more.
Right now, there are a few ways to support animal feeders, both for people helping animals at home and at sanctuaries. We’re adding even more options as our website expands.
Streaming live footage of animals is becoming increasingly popular, and many animal welfare organizations are joining the trend. For example, Alveus Animal Sanctuary, a well-known channel on Twitch, broadcasts its animal residents around the clock to teach people globally about endangered species and how to protect them.
