South Korea has created a special postage stamp to celebrate the achievements of League of Legends star player, ‘Faker’.
Lee Sang-hyeok, known as ‘Faker’, is a legendary League of Legends player and a well-known personality in the world of esports.
He’s the most successful professional League of Legends player ever, with a record of six World Championships, two Mid-Season Invitationals, and ten championships from the LCK and Champions Korea leagues.
The South Korean government honored his impact on the country’s esports success by featuring his image on an official stamp.

Faker becomes first SK esports pro to get their own postage stamp
On April 6, 2026, South Korea’s Postal Service revealed a new stamp featuring a professional esports player. This is a historic first for the country, as it’s the first time an esports pro has been honored on an official government stamp.
South Korea often creates special stamps to celebrate important people, events, and achievements. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s incredible success in League of Legends has earned him this honor, and the commemorative stamps will be available for purchase in South Korea beginning in October 2026.
It’s awesome to see Faker getting so much recognition! This isn’t the first time his country has shown him love either. Back in January, the South Korean President actually gave him the Cheongyeong Medal – it’s like, the highest award they give for sports accomplishments. Seriously cool.
During the awards ceremony, President Jae-myung commended Faker for significantly enhancing South Korea’s international image. This event marked a major change in how esports is perceived in the country, as Faker’s success elevated professional gaming to the same level as traditional sports.

In 2024, he made history as the first player ever added to the LoL Esports Hall of Legends. His success continued into 2025 with a partnership with McDonald’s. The 29-year-old gamer is still going strong after 14 years, currently competing for T1 as a Mid Laner in the 2026 pre-season.
