Microsoft will sponsor a college football bowl game called the “Xbox Bowl” on December 18th, featuring Missouri State versus Arkansas State. This new game replaces the Bahamas Bowl, which isn’t being held this year.
ESPN, the broadcaster for the event, announced that fans can expect exciting, Xbox-themed activities and experiences at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
So, Microsoft just launched this new campaign called “This Is An Xbox,” and it’s kinda wild. They’re basically saying everything is an Xbox now β even football! It’s a weird but interesting way to brand things, honestly.

Chris Lee, who leads marketing for Xbox, explained that they want to redefine what it means to enjoy game day, both for dedicated fans and newcomers.
The Xbox Bowl is one of seventeen college football bowl games shown on ESPN. It’s common for these games to have unusual sponsors, and this year is no different. Other examples include the Bucked Up LA Bowl hosted by Gronk, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl, the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, and even the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop. And let’s not forget the Pop-Tarts Bowl, which famously features edible mascots!
College football fans can enjoy a full slate of games starting with the bowl season on December 13th and culminating in the National Championship game on January 19th. You can find a complete schedule of the bowl games here, though some teams are still to be determined.
