The new game from the creators of Disco Elysium, previously known as XXX Nightshift, didn’t clearly communicate that it was a detective role-playing game. The publisher has now changed the name to Tangerine Antarctic to better reflect the game’s genre.
Dark Math Games isn’t just renaming the game – they’re also completely changing how it’s played. The game is switching from an isometric perspective to a third-person view. And the new title, Tangerine Antarctic, refers to the luxurious Antarctic hotel where the story unfolds, and where a murder will take place during a fierce blizzard.
Tangerine Antarctic is a single-player game where your choices matter. You’ll investigate a case at your own speed, and you can team up with a partner to uncover clues and find the person responsible. The game offers multiple ways to solve the mystery, and having a partner opens up new possibilities for investigation.
I’m really intrigued by this “maboul kit” they’re adding! It sounds like it’ll help you get through tough conversations, face enemies, and even… charm people. But the game warns that using it isn’t without risks – apparently, everything comes at a cost, so you’ll have to be careful!
Hey, I just added Tangerine Antarctic to my Steam wishlist! It looks awesome, but unfortunately, there’s no release date announced yet. I’m keeping an eye out for when it drops on PC though!
