Cruise line fining guests who take food into their rooms

Okay, I just heard about this and I can’t believe it! A cruise line over in Europe is actually charging people if they want to take any leftover food from the buffet back to their rooms. Like, seriously? It’s a bit much, isn’t it?

Many people who stay at all-inclusive resorts with buffets admit to taking food with them – whether to enjoy by the pool or in their rooms. Some resorts prohibit this, but others don’t mind.

Costa Cruises is now charging passengers a €60 (about $70 or £52) fee if they bring food back to their cabin balconies.

Starting in mid-May, customers will be charged a cleaning fee when they close their accounts.

Cruise passengers will be fined for eating buffet food in their cabins

Costa Cruises recently announced that passengers are not allowed to take food from the buffet or restaurants to eat anywhere other than the dining areas. This is to maintain health and hygiene standards throughout the ship, including the pool areas and cabins.

Carnival Cruises confirmed to FOX News that they sent this letter on a few select cruises to discourage certain guest behaviors.

Costa Cruises continues to prioritize providing a safe, high-quality, and enjoyable experience for all its passengers.

According to UnrealCruises, Costa Cruises is unique in that they charge a $5 fee for room service deliveries to passengers staying in standard cabins.

Other travel companies are also updating their policies. For example, United Airlines will now remove passengers from flights if they violate the rules about headphone use, as outlined in their passenger contract.

British Airways now prohibits passengers from recording staff without their permission, and this includes using devices like smart glasses – such as Meta Ray-Bans – to do so.
