A Chick-fil-A worker is facing accusations of stealing $80,000 through a surprising scheme involving mac and cheese. It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true!
Keyshun Jones was let go from his job at a Chick-fil-A in Grapevine, Texas, last October, according to Fox 4 News. Now, he’s facing accusations of illegally ordering food from the store and then getting a refund to his own credit card.
According to the report, Jones was arrested on April 18th after he supposedly placed 800 orders for Mac and Cheese, resulting in over $80,000 in refunds.
The strange series of orders triggered an investigation, and security footage showed a former employee processing them. He was rapidly identified as the suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued in early April.
Chick-fil-A worker arrested in Texas over Mac and Cheese scheme
Fox 4 reports that Jones had previously avoided being arrested, but was finally caught on April 17th. He’s now been charged with stealing property, laundering money, avoiding police, illegally possessing a gun as a convicted felon, and using fake identification.
If convicted, the former Chick-fil-A employee could face up to 10 years in prison. He is currently being held at a Fort Worth, Texas jail with bail set at over $115,000.
No court date for the case has been reported yet.

Although the case involving Jones is unique, he’s not the only person potentially going to jail over odd behavior related to food. In France, a teenager could face up to two years in jail for a prank: they were caught on video licking a straw from a vending machine and then returning it.
An 18-year-old in Singapore was accused of committing an offense at an orange juice machine on March 12th.
