Production on a new film based on the popular franchise has begun in Queensland, Australia, as of April 20, 2026. Jim Mickle, known for directing Sweet Tooth and Cold in July, is at the helm of this story, which takes place during a long-running space war. Netflix says the film will appeal to existing fans and features a cast including stars from The White Lotus, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Dune: Part Three.

Throughout its first two seasons, the show has consistently built intense storylines around major holidays—Labor Day in Season 1 and the Fourth of July in Season 2. The creator has indicated Season 3 will take place in cold weather, potentially on New Year’s Eve. This raises the question: is the show becoming too predictable by always centering events around holidays?

Okay, so I’m super excited about this new Batman horror movie, and they just launched the official Instagram page! They finally dropped a first look image, and it’s all about Clayface – he’s definitely taking center stage. You can check it out below, I’ve been waiting for this!

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, who brought us The Equalizer, and written by John Logan, a veteran of the James Bond series, the new movie Michael delves into the life of Michael Jackson. It starts with his beginnings as a child star with the Jackson 5 and follows his rise to global fame as a solo artist. Though it touches on his personal life, the film mainly concentrates on the early part of Jackson’s career, with possibilities of covering more in future installments.

Adam Meilech’s new film, Content, blends the unsettling atmosphere of Creep with the screenlife style of Unfriended, offering a darkly humorous take on found footage for today’s social media generation.

One of the things I admire most about Captain Picard – and what the Federation stands for – is summed up in his conversation with Ves Alkar. He basically questioned whether achieving a good outcome could ever make a truly wrong action okay. It’s a powerful moment that really highlights the core themes of fairness and doing what’s right that Star Trek always represented, and honestly, it feels even more important now, as the show hasn’t always stayed true to those ideals lately.

It’s interesting how Marvel portrays The Punisher differently depending on the project. In his own shows, Frank Castle often struggles with his violent past and tries to escape being the Punisher. But when he appears in shows like Daredevil seasons 2 and Born Again, or even a glimpse in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he’s much closer to the ruthless vigilante from the comics – a relentless force against crime. Despite Jon Bernthal’s strong performance, the MCU’s version of the Punisher has been caught in a repetitive cycle for years. It raises the question: why does Marvel limit what the Punisher can do in his own series, but allow him to be the uncompromising character he is known as when he’s supporting other heroes?

According to Variety, the latest episode, which became available on April 16th, attracted 9.7 million viewers over its first weekend. This continues a successful season for the show, which saw a significant increase in ratings throughout its 15 episodes, averaging 15.4 million viewers per episode, as Variety also reported.

The film faced significant challenges in capturing the essence of Michael Jackson, especially given his iconic status. However, it also had some advantages. Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, plays the lead role and bears a remarkable resemblance to his uncle. Furthermore, Lionsgate invested heavily in the project, with a budget of around $170 million – making it one of the studio’s most costly films ever.
