Arc Raiders is a popular gaming, and it could become a movie or TV show next.
Embark Studios has been approached by several Hollywood studios about potential projects, but so far, no deals have been finalized. According to CEO Patrick Soderlund, they’re waiting for the right opportunity. “It needs to be done in the right way,” he explained.
He mentioned numerous companies have expressed interest in turning the game into a TV series or movie. Soderlund said he’d enjoy seeing an adaptation, but confirmed there are currently no official plans in development.
“The IP fits quite well,” he said of Arc Raiders.
Arc Raiders came out in October 2025, between the releases of Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. It’s been a big hit, with over 12 million copies sold and revenue exceeding $350 million. Surprisingly, the game recently had its most popular day ever, even months after launching. It also received the award for Most Innovative Gameplay at the Steam Awards.
Just because Arc Raiders is being considered for a movie or TV series doesn’t guarantee it will actually happen. Many video game adaptations are currently in the works – over 50, in fact – and not all of them will ever come out.
Looking ahead to video game adaptations, several movies and shows are confirmed for the next few years. In 2026, we can expect a new Super Mario Galaxy movie, another Street Fighter film, a sequel to Mortal Kombat, and a Resident Evil movie directed by Zach Cregger. Then, in 2027, live-action versions of Zelda and Minecraft will hit the big screen. For television, the highly anticipated third season of The Last of Us is also planned for release in 2027.
