Embark Studios is letting players try out their new extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, for free this weekend with a ‘server slam’ test available on all platforms.
From October 17th to 19th, everyone can try out the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The developers have done several private tests already, but this is the first time it’s open to all players, and it’s the final major test before the game officially releases on October 30th.
We’re doing a large-scale test on our servers to make sure everything runs smoothly when the game launches! We’re inviting anyone age 16 and older to participate, help us test the system’s limits, and get a first look at what Arc Raiders has to offer, the developer explained.
In the test, players will experience the expansive Dam Battlegrounds map, featuring flooded areas and abandoned buildings to discover. You can play the game alone or with a team.
During the test, the game map will experience various changes, such as electromagnetic storms. Players will also encounter The Traders of Speranza, characters who offer quests and sell items.
Any progress you make during the Server Slam won’t be transferred when the full game launches. But, you can get the Server Slammer backpack just by participating in the test and linking an Embark ID.

Embark Studios was created by a group of experienced game developers, including Patrick Soderlund, a former executive from EA and the Battlefield series. Their new game, Arc Raiders, which costs $40, is being released shortly after EA launched Battlefield 6 on October 10th, which proved to be very popular.
Okay, so I’ve been checking out Arc Raiders, and it’s set in the future where these crazy robots called ‘Arc’ are basically taking over. The whole game revolves around hiding out underground to stay safe, but you have to go out into the world to scavenge for stuff and fight back. Definitely check out the trailer – it gives you a good feel for what the game’s about.
