In the first trailer for the Devil Wears Prada sequel, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) doesn’t recognize Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) when Andy returns to Runway. Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) jokingly compares Andy to someone who shops at TJ Maxx as Miranda struggles to place her. “Sorry, who is this? Do I know her?” Miranda asks, while Andy tries to remind her of their past. Nigel clarifies that Andy was “one of the Emilys,” but Miranda is mostly concerned with having someone to accompany her on a helicopter trip to the countryside.
Besides Nigel, Miranda only seems to remember Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt) from the first movie. Emily expresses her surprise at the reunion, saying, “We worked at Runway together, Miranda!” With The Devil Wears Prada 2 scheduled for release on May 1st, Miranda has time to revisit the original film if she wants.
