All 3 Meet the Parents Films Will Release on Netflix Ahead of New Sequel

Fans of the Meet the Parents movies are in for a treat! The popular trilogy starring Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller is getting a new installment called Focker-in-Law this fall. You can also revisit the original three films on a different streaming service beforehand.

Starting May 1st, all three Meet the Parents movies – Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Little Fockers – will be streaming on Netflix. Before this, the films were only available on Starz, so now more people will be able to enjoy the complete trilogy.

Meet the Parents Is One of Robert De Niro’s Biggest Franchises

When people think of Robert De Niro’s famous movies, they often remember classics like The Godfather or A Bronx Tale. However, the Meet the Parents series is actually one of his most successful franchises. The first Meet the Parents film, a remake of a 1992 movie, centers around a man named Greg trying to impress his girlfriend’s parents. He especially struggles with her father, Jack (played by De Niro), who is overly protective and suspicious, creating problems for Greg and his daughter Pam’s relationship.

The movie Meet the Parents was a huge financial success, bringing in $330 million worldwide. Its sequels also performed well: Meet the Fockers earned $522 million in 2004, and Little Fockers made $310 million in 2010. Together, the three films have earned over $1 billion, making it a very profitable franchise.

Focker-in-Law Revives the Beloved Comedy Franchise

Just as fans await the new Meet the Parents sequel, the original film is now available on a streaming service. The sequel, arriving sixteen years after the last movie, features Ariana Grande as Olivia Jones, Henry’s (Skyler Gisondo) girlfriend, and brings the series back to the screen.

Okay, so I just got a sneak peek at the new Meet the Parents movie, and let me tell you, they’ve brought back a lot of familiar faces! Robert De Niro is, of course, back, alongside Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and even Owen Wilson. Plus, Beanie Feldstein is fantastic as the grown-up Samantha Focker. Honestly, after a long break, this sequel feels like a real return to what made the original movies so funny. And good timing – it’s got me wanting to revisit the first three films! It’s the perfect excuse for a binge-watch before heading to the theater.

You’ll be able to watch Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Focker-in-Law on Netflix starting May 1st.
