Spam is officially thinking outside the can with its newest format in time for summer: hot dogs.
Okay, so Spam is doing something kinda wild! They’re famous for those canned slices, right? Well, they’re branching out and making a hot dog now! The cool part is, they say it’s going to taste just like the Spam we all know and love, just…in hot dog form. It’s a little weird, but I’m actually kinda curious to try it!
Okay, so this company is seriously trying to reinvent the hot dog, and get this – it’s supposed to taste like Spam! They’re saying it has that same delicious, salty, and a little bit sweet flavor that you love from Spam. I’m definitely curious to try it!
While originally limited at launch, Spam has big plans for its Spam dog throughout the summer.
Spam dogs takes on convenience stores
Spam announced on its website that the new product is a “game-changing convenience food” and shared details on where customers can buy it.
The new Spam hot dog will be sold at Rutters stores in the Northeast, CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, and at some ABC and 7-Eleven locations in Hawaii.

Spam anticipates the product will become available in more stores this summer. They also suggest the best way to cook it is either on a grill or using a roller.
Whether fans will be able to get hot dogs at the 2026 World Cup cities is uncertain. This stems from a promise by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to personally deliver a hot dog and a Coke to anyone who purchases $2 million worth of tickets.
Spam’s new hot dog is just the newest example of the ‘glizzy’ craze taking over. This year, we’ve already seen some unusual hot dog-related items, like a giant 20-inch hot dog from IKEA and a bourbon bottle featuring the image of Costco’s famous $1.50 hot dog.
