If you enjoyed the show Homeland, you might like Netflix’s new drama, The Beast in Me. Homeland, which first aired on Showtime over 14 years ago, captivated viewers with its story of CIA officer Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes) and her husband, Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), who sparked suspicion from the start.
The show then centers on Carrie’s work as a secret operative. For all eight seasons, Homeland remains a captivating and suspenseful series, with just a few episodes that aren’t quite as strong. If you enjoy this type of show, you might also like the 2025 Netflix thriller, The Beast in Me.
Netflix’s The Beast In Me Is Perfect For Homeland Fans
I’m really excited about this new Netflix miniseries, The Beast in Me, which is coming out on November 13, 2025! I’m a big fan of Claire Danes, and it’s fantastic to see her in another leading role. She plays Aggie Wiggs, a successful author who’s become a recluse after a terrible loss – the death of her son – and has withdrawn from everything she once loved. It sounds a lot like Homeland in that respect, and I can’t wait to see what she does with the character.
When a well-known property developer becomes her neighbor, Aggie gets an idea for her next book. She starts investigating him and uncovers some surprising secrets, which she’s happy to reveal, especially if it distracts from her own hidden past.
Fans of Homeland will be pleased to know that Howard Gordon, who previously ran Homeland, is also the showrunner for The Beast in Me. He’s known for creating intense dramas, and with both Gordon and Claire Danes involved, this new series could fill the void left by Homeland for many viewers.
There Are Several Notable Names Involved In The Beast In Me
In addition to Claire Danes and Howard Gordon, The Beast in Me boasts some well-known producers. Comedy icon Conan O’Brien and Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster are both involved. Foster has a substantial history of producing, while O’Brien’s producing work is primarily connected to projects where he also appears.
Joining the main cast are Matthew Rhys, known from The Americans, as Nile Jarvis; Brittany Snow, from X and the Pitch Perfect movies, as Nina Jarvis; and Natalie Morales, who starred in Parks and Recreation and Grey’s Anatomy, as Shelley. Jonathan Banks, Julie Ann Emery, and David Lyons round out the supporting cast.
At just eight episodes, The Beast in Me is a short and easy watch, especially compared to the lengthy eight-season run of Homeland. Thanks to its talented cast and creative team, The Beast in Me has the potential to be a big success and a great option for viewers who enjoyed Homeland.
