Ryan Murphy’s new show, All’s Fair, is getting a lot of attention after its first three episodes were released last week. Surprisingly, All’s Fair is breaking Hulu’s streaming records, even though it initially received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics disliked the legal drama for several reasons, including its uneven style and a somewhat awkward performance by Kim Kardashian.
While visually stunning with amazing fashion and beautiful homes, the show All’s Fair doesn’t offer a particularly original storyline. Kourtney Kardashian stars alongside a very talented cast, and if you’d like to see them in stronger shows, here are 10 TV series featuring the actors from All’s Fair.
10. Star (2016-2019)
Teyana Taylor As Joyce Sheree
As a film and TV buff, I always thought Star was a really interesting take on the music industry drama. It felt like Fox and Lee Daniels were aiming for something similar to Nashville, but way more raw and real. Instead of country music, it dove into the R&B and hip-hop world of Atlanta. The show centers on three young women all trying to make it big, and it doesn’t shy away from showing just how tough that climb can be – it’s a world where talent only gets you so far, and success always comes with a price.
The show explores the bonds of chosen families, the struggle to survive, and the difficulties of being famous. Teyana Taylor, who plays Milan – a receptionist with dreams of becoming a lawyer in All’s Fair – previously appeared on Star as Joyce Sheree, a singer also trying to make it big. Her story showed how personal problems and the demands of the music industry can tragically intersect.
9. American Horror Story: Delicate (2023-2024)
Kim Kardashian As Siobhan Corbyn
American Horror Story: Delicate, the twelfth season of the series, represented a change for the show. It was the first season adapted from a novel—Danielle Valentine’s Delicate Condition—and it was led by new showrunner Halley Feiffer, replacing Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. While not a standout season, it explores similar themes to the classic horror film Rosemary’s Baby.
Look, ‘Delicate’ might be remembered most for bringing Kim Kardashian into the world of Ryan Murphy’s shows. She absolutely commanded attention, and while her acting wasn’t necessarily groundbreaking, it was surprisingly captivating. It really highlighted Murphy’s thing for exploring celebrity culture as art, which makes perfect sense considering Kardashian is the focus of ‘All’s Fair’.
8. Reno 911! (2003-2009, 2020-2022)
Niecy Nash-Betts As Deputy Raineesha Williams
I absolutely loved Reno 911! It was such a funny show that totally made fun of those police reality shows like Cops, but in the best way. It felt so real because it was filmed like a documentary, but with the most ridiculous, unprepared deputies you could imagine. It was on Comedy Central for years, and a lot of the humor came from the actors just improvising and really getting into their characters. Honestly, it was how I first discovered how hilarious Niecy Nash-Betts is – she was a standout!
Mary Nash-Betts showed her range in two very different roles. In All’s Fair, she played a careful and detailed investigator, while in Reno 911!, she was the hilarious Deputy Raineesha Williams – a confident and boisterous officer who loved the power of her job. Nash-Betts’ perfect comedic timing and physical humor made Raineesha one of the most beloved characters on Reno 911!, even with small jokes.
7. Modern Family (2009-2020)
Ed O’Neil As Jay Pritchett
Modern Family truly mastered the mockumentary style of comedy. It expertly mixed quick, funny moments with heartfelt emotions. The show was known for its touching closing scenes, often featuring voice-overs over a montage, which added genuine warmth after 22 minutes of laughs. A key to its success was Ed O’Neill’s performance as Jay Pritchett, the strong but loving head of the large family.
Ed O’Neill is well-known for playing Doug Standish in All’s Fair, but his role as Jay Pritchett remains one of his most memorable. Interestingly, O’Neill is now equally recognized for Jay in Modern Family as he is for Al Bundy in Married… with Children. This makes him a rare actor who significantly shaped two distinct periods of television comedy.
6. Damages (2007-2012)
Glenn Close as Patty Hewes

Glenn Close is well-known for her roles in legal dramas, and All’s Fair isn’t her first. She previously starred as the sharp and often merciless Patty Hewes in Damages, where she had a complex, intense relationship with Rose Byrne’s character. Damages was unique because each season focused on a single case presented like a thrilling mystery, exploring the perspectives of both the lawyers and their opponents.
Glenn Close gave a particularly strong performance in Damages, earning her two Emmy Awards. Now, in All’s Fair, she plays Dina Standish, an experienced divorce lawyer. However, it’s unclear if this new series will be as gripping, intricate, and thought-provoking as Damages, which was known for its compelling legal drama and Close’s powerful presence.
5. Mr. Robot (2015-2019)
Grace Gummer As Dominique DiPierro
What makes Mr. Robot so good is its smart writing, captivating mood, and genuine emotional depth. While it initially seems like a fast-paced thriller about a hacker battling a huge company, the show is really a powerful exploration of mental health, finding yourself, feeling isolated, and the desire for control – which is why it’s gained such a dedicated fanbase.
The TV show Mr. Robot was highly praised, winning awards like Golden Globes, Emmys, and a Peabody. Actress Grace Gummer plays FBI agent Dominique “Dom” DiPierro, who gets involved in the aftermath of the show’s central hacks. Gummer also appeared in an episode of All’s Fair as Grace Henry, a woman who left her husband to be with another woman.
4. American Horror Story: Asylum (2012-2013)
Sarah Paulson As Lana Winters
Many fans consider American Horror Story: Asylum (the show’s second season) to be one of its best. It successfully combines the series’ signature craziness with a well-structured story. The season’s horror is rooted in the real-life mistreatment of people within religious and medical systems, making the scares feel disturbingly realistic instead of simply over-the-top.
Sarah Paulson, who often works with Ryan Murphy, gives a standout performance as Lana Winters in Asylum. Lana’s transformation from a vulnerable person to a resilient survivor and ultimately a complicated public figure is one of the most compelling character stories in the show. In All’s Fair, she plays Carrington Lane, a competing divorce attorney. While Paulson is a highlight of the series, All’s Fair probably won’t be remembered as one of her greatest roles.
3. Transparent (2014-2019)
Judith Light As Shelly Pfefferman
Amazon’s series Transparent was a daring and innovative show that never shied away from difficult topics. It openly explored themes like transgender identity and contemporary Jewish life, culminating in a surprisingly ambitious, full-length musical episode. Even with off-screen issues, Transparent is remembered for its genuine emotional depth and creative approach to storytelling.
Judith Light delivers a standout performance as Shelly Pfefferman, the Pfefferman family’s intelligent, funny, and incredibly honest mother. The show explores Shelly’s own vulnerabilities as she tries to support her family, even when they disagree, bringing both humor and genuine emotion to the role. In the series All’s Fair, Light plays Sheila Baskin, a client of Naomi Watts’ character, Liberty Ronson, who is going through a divorce.
2. The Handmaid’s Tale (2017-2025)
O-T Fagbenle As Luke Bankole
The TV series The Handmaid’s Tale had a significant impact, inspiring protests where people wore the show’s recognizable red robes at government buildings. O-T Fagbenle played Luke Bankole, June’s husband before the events of the show, and for a while, his whereabouts remained a mystery.
It’s heartbreaking to see Luke trying to move on after being separated from June, especially knowing he feels so much guilt over not being able to save his family. The show really digs into how deeply trauma can change people, and even the strongest relationships. It was tough seeing June and Luke reunited but ultimately not ending up together in The Handmaid’s Tale. Now, I’m excited to see O.T. Fagbenle playing a different role – Dr. Reggie Ramirez, Liberty’s boyfriend – in All’s Fair! He’s such a talented actor.
1. Twin Peaks: The Return (2017)
Naomi Watts As Janey-E Jones

Bringing back Twin Peaks after over 25 years was a huge challenge. But David Lynch didn’t just revive the show—he took it in exciting and dreamlike new directions. A standout part of the revival was Naomi Watts’ character, Janey-E Jones, who showcased Watts’ ability to be both funny and deeply moving.
I first really noticed Naomi Watts in David Lynch’s amazing film, Mulholland Drive. Now, she’s fantastic as Liberty Ronson in All’s Fair – she plays this really smart and layered lawyer at the same firm as Kim Kardashian’s character. I’ve seen her work with Ryan Murphy before, too, in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans and the creepy Netflix series, The Watcher. She always brings something special to her roles.
