Sometimes this includes plot details disclosed prematurely, and at other times it results in perplexing sentences, as seen with the ESRB rating for Baby Steps. If you’re not familiar with Baby Steps, it’s a new game designed by Bennett Foddy, creator of QWOP and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. The game is published by Devolver Digital. In the game, you play as Nate, a directionless young man with few prospects, who suddenly learns to walk. However, he’s not very skilled at it, much like in Foddy’s other games where controlling characters can be challenging due to unconventional controls. The game has an eccentric feel to it, but things get even more peculiar as you play on.
Let me rephrase that part for you: Some of the characters in this game have a unique appearance, combining human and donkey features, which may include exposed male anatomy.
Further developments include the inclusion of certain dialogues such as, “Some rather lewd individuals have passed through here” and “apparently someone has breast milk.” Additionally, there’s a scene where it appears a donkey is relieving itself.
It remains to be seen if the game’s peculiarities are fully revealed, but we’ll discover it all when Baby Steps releases on September 23 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
