The pre-sale for Resident Evil Requiem is now live, as we shared before. Capcom has also published a new video and will be hosting a game presentation soon.
Summary of the story
The upcoming film, Resident Evil Requiem, follows Grace Ashcroft as she arrives in Raccoon City, the place where her mother was killed eight years prior. While specific plot details are still secret, knowing the history of Raccoon City will likely be helpful for understanding the story.
Capcom has released a helpful 10-minute video featuring Maggie Robertson, the actress who played Lady Dimitrescu, to recap the entire Resident Evil story. The video is designed to get players prepared for the upcoming release of Requiem, and it covers everything from the original 1996 game all the way through Resident Evil Village.
A Resident Evil showcase was announced at the video’s conclusion, and it’s planned for early next year. While the specific date isn’t confirmed, it will likely be in January, given that the game Requiem is set to release in February.
With the series celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, Capcom may have some big announcements beyond just the next game. Fans have long hoped for remakes of titles like Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica, and this milestone could be the perfect time for them to finally appear.
Preorders and a small mishap
Okay, so pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are finally live! They’ve got two versions you can choose from. The cool thing is, if you pre-order, you’ll get an exclusive skin for my character – definitely snagging that!
- The Standard Edition for PC, PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 costs $69.99.
- The Deluxe Edition for PC, PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 costs 79,99 dollars.
The Deluxe Edition comes with everything in the standard game, plus extra digital content. This includes five new outfits, four weapon designs, two image filters, two charms, and the game’s soundtrack. It also features a collection of letters from 1998. If you buy the physical Deluxe Edition, you’ll also receive a special steelbook case.
In Japan, you can also get a collector’s edition that comes with a Grace Ashcroft figurine.

During the pre-order launch, Sony accidentally revealed some information. The Portuguese PlayStation Store briefly listed a costume for Leon, suggesting he’ll be a playable character in the new game – a detail that supports recent rumors. This likely confirms that he’s the second character players will be able to control.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27 on PC, PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
