The hit show The White Lotus is moving on from its partnership with Four Seasons Hotels for its next season. According to Variety, creator Mike White is scouting numerous luxury resorts along the French Riviera as potential filming locations. While previous seasons – set in Hawaii, Thailand, and Sicily – were all filmed at Four Seasons properties (including resorts in Koh Samui, Taormina, Maui, and Wailea – the last of which was also used for Modern Family’s Hawaiian episodes), HBO is now considering a variety of options for season four’s French setting.
In a video posted after the latest episode, Mike White hinted that the next season of The White Lotus might move away from the ocean-related deaths seen in previous seasons. He mentioned wanting to explore different settings, but also joked that there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels. According to Variety, the production team is currently scouting locations in Paris, including Le Lutetia and the Ritz, and is also considering beach areas in Monaco and Nice. And, someone suggested that Wanda Sykes, who lives in France, would be perfect for a dramatic role and deserves an Emmy!
