Justin Bieber is starting to gain popularity as a Twitch streamer, but he’s also been affected by negative comments and says they’re impacting his mental wellbeing.
The 31-year-old from Canada started streaming on Twitch in October and said he’d stream almost daily – and he’s kept that promise.
He’s already well-known as a singer, and he’s also built a large following on Twitch, with over 206,000 followers as of today.
Like all creators online, he also receives negative comments, and Justin Bieber says they’re starting to bother him.
Justin Bieber speaks out on negative Twitch comments
On October 28th, Bieber shared that he’s been struggling with using Twitch because he gets overwhelmed by comments from strangers.
Streaming on Twitch can be really tough because people who are unhappy often take it out on others by leaving hurtful comments. It’s challenging enough to share yourself publicly, and then you have to deal with negativity like that.
Justin Bieber recently shared how negative comments on Twitch affected him, explaining that one especially harsh remark really bothered him during his initial days of streaming.

The singer remembered being really hurt by a specific set of comments online. He’d been tired after playing basketball and saw people writing that he didn’t seem as energetic or lively as he used to be, and that he’d lost his natural charm.
I was shocked! I had just finished playing basketball and was simply exhausted. But then I started to worry, questioning if I was losing my energy and personality. I really enjoy life, and this whole thing was just awful, he explained.
“You can have one million people say the nicest things and then the one comment gets in there.”
Justin Bieber isn’t the only streamer to have problems with Twitch chat. Even Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, a hugely popular streamer, used to stream less often because people in chat would try to provoke him into making controversial statements.
