Carlsberg, the famous Danish brewery, has created the world’s smallest beer – it’s so tiny you need a microscope to see it!
This tiny beer, created with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Glass Component, and artist Åsa Strand, is only 12 millimeters tall. It holds a single drop – about 0.005 centilitres – and while it is beer, you definitely wouldn’t feel any effects from it!
Carlsberg explained that despite its tiny size – about the size of a grain of rice and containing just a drop of beer – the miniature bottle represents the company’s longstanding commitment to responsible drinking.
This beer was created at Carlsberg’s test brewery in Falkenberg, Sweden, aiming to deliver a strong flavor in a small serving. It’s already gained attention online, with Outkick jokingly labeling it “the most pointless thing ever.”

You can win $1,000 by making an even smaller beer
Carlsberg confirmed the photos of their recent stunt are genuine, not created using artificial intelligence. They’ve now issued a challenge to university students: try to create an even smaller beer than theirs!
The company is partnering with the School of Engineering’s Student Union to run a competition. The winner will receive 10,000 Swedish krona – about $1,000 – and a trip to visit Carlsberg’s research facilities in Copenhagen.
Although the tiny beer is mostly meant as a playful gesture, it’s quickly gaining attention online and likely amusing many beer drinkers with how small it is.
