In two Nintendo Direct presentations totaling nearly two hours, producer Masahiro Sakurai has shared details about his team’s upcoming game, Kirby Air Riders. He confirmed today that the game will launch in November as a complete package, with no additional downloadable content planned for release after launch.
Towards the end of the presentation, Sakurai announced that there won’t be any downloadable content for the game. He stated, “Everything is included as is.” He also confirmed they have no plans to create future installments of Kirby Air Riders, saying he doesn’t intend to turn it into a continuing series.
From the beginning, I’ve put my heart and soul into making this game,” Sakurai said. “I really hope you give it a chance.
The recent Kirby Air Riders livestream revealed plenty of content is on the way for players. The hour-long broadcast showcased new modes, characters, costumes, and customization options. Highlights included a story mode called Road Trip, a variety of new playable characters, and a feature called My Machine, which lets players build and personalize their own air riders for racing.
The latest announcement confirmed that the new Kirby Air Riders game will bring back many popular features from the original Kirby Air Ride. This includes all nine tracks from the original game, adding to the ten new tracks for a total of 19. Players will also be able to enjoy Top Ride, a unique mode that offers a top-down racing perspective.
Kirby Air Riders is set to launch November 20 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
