Battlefield 6 launched less than two weeks ago and has quickly gained millions of players. While most are enjoying the game – 75% of Steam reviews are positive – some players have criticized aspects like the single-player campaign and the size of the maps.
The development team is listening to player feedback and has begun planning how to address the biggest problems. They’re not only working on improvements to how players advance, but also making changes to the game itself to appeal to both dedicated, long-time fans and newer players who enjoy a quicker, more fast-paced style of gameplay.
One player observed that the fast-paced movement in early test versions of Battlefield 6 was particularly popular with younger players. When the game officially launched with slightly slower movement, it seemed to appeal more to experienced, long-time fans. This led the player to suggest finding a balance that would please everyone. EA DICE has confirmed they are already working on adjustments to achieve that.
We’re definitely making some changes to how characters move to find the right balance. We’ve already started working on some improvements and are keeping a close eye on player feedback to guide us.
I was really excited to hear what the developers had to say! They mentioned they aren’t planning on speeding up or slowing down how characters move in BF 6. Instead, they’re focusing on how things look – things like animations. They feel that changing the animations will have a bigger impact on how the game feels to play than messing with the actual physics of movement.
In addition to making movement better, the developers are also planning to adjust how aiming sometimes goes slightly off-target. Players have mentioned it feels a bit too noticeable, though it doesn’t ruin the game. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when these changes will go live.
