Just in time for Halloween, a leading horror author has released a massive new novel! Joe Hill’s fifth book, King Sorrow, arrives this week (October 21st) and is currently on sale at Amazon with a significant discount. The 896-page hardcover is 34% off, bringing the price down to $26.60 from $40. This horror-fantasy story centers on a group of college friends who accidentally unleash a frightening dragon. Hill is the creative mind behind popular works like Locke & Key, The Black Phone, and NOS4A2, and is known for continuing the horror tradition of his father, Stephen King.
You can get the ebook of King Sorrow for $17, and the audiobook currently costs $22 (down from $25). However, the best value is to try Audible Premium Plus. Even if you don’t want a subscription long-term, you can get the King Sorrow audiobook for $15 by signing up for just one month of Premium Plus.
Joe Hill, as many know, is the son of famous horror writer Stephen King. They’ve worked together on various projects, notably including two stories featured in Hill’s 2019 collection, Full Throttle.

Joe Hill’s Novels
Joe Hill is a bestselling author with a track record of success – all four of his novels have been popular with readers and have earned him awards. His first novel, Heart-Shaped Box (2007), won the Bram Stoker Award. Horns (2010) was made into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe in 2014, and NOS4A2 (pronounced Nosferatu), published in 2013, became a two-season TV series on AMC. If you liked Stephen King’s The Stand, you’ll likely enjoy his 2016 novel, The Fireman, a gripping post-apocalyptic story about a dangerous fungus.

Joe Hill’s Locke & Key series and other comics
Joe Hill is also a successful comic book writer. He’s best known for co-creating Locke & Key with artist Gabriel Rodriguez. Together, they produced 37 issues of the fantasy series between 2008 and 2013. Netflix later turned the comic book into a three-season original series, airing from 2020 to 2022.
You can read Locke & Key through Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited, and new members can try it for free for a month. If you like collecting physical copies, the IDW comic book and graphic novel series is widely available.
