Popular streamer Valkyrae has released another statement regarding her previous comments, where she supported fellow streamer Hasan against claims that he uses a shock collar on his dog, Kaya.
A video of Hasan and his dog, Kaya, is circulating widely online after going viral from his Twitch stream on October 7th. The clip shows Kaya getting up from her bed while on camera.
After Hasan asked Kaya to lie back down, she jumped onto the bed but quickly cried out, seemingly surprised or in pain. This caused an uproar online, with many people claiming Hasan had used a shock collar to force the dog to behave for the camera.
Hasan guessed that the cat might have snagged her dew claw on the bed. He then displayed her collar during his livestream, explaining it included features like vibration, an AirTag for tracking, and an alarm, but confirmed it didn’t deliver any electric shock.
Hasan’s dog, Kaya, whimpered when he seemed to try and grab something, telling her to stay put.

Despite his explanation, many people remain unconvinced and are asking for more evidence that the collar isn’t designed to deliver electric shocks. The issue has quickly spread online, and other content creators are now sharing their thoughts.
Valkyrae reacts to “horrible” clip of Kaya on Hasan’s stream
Valkyrae shared her opinion on the situation during a recent livestream on October 9th. Initially, she acknowledged the clip didn’t make Hasan look good, and stated that Kaya is currently being well-cared for.
She acknowledged the video looked awful and understood why people were upset. However, she wanted to assure everyone that Kaya is an incredibly loved, well-behaved, and cherished pet – the best she’s ever known.
Rae suggested that the strong reaction to the incident would be more helpful if focused on pressing social and political problems, adding that people seem to be focusing on the wrong things.
Honestly, after seeing that clip, I totally get why everyone was worried. But I’ve gotten to know both Hasan and Kaya pretty well, and I just know in my heart he would never hurt her. It just doesn’t seem possible, knowing him.
Valkyrae responded to the recent controversy, saying she can confirm that Kaya, her dog, is very loved, spoiled, and well-behaved – a ‘big baby’ in the best way. She expressed frustration that people seemed more upset about this situation than about much more serious issues, questioning what people prioritize.

Honestly, the way the streamer reacted to the criticism just caused even *more* drama. A lot of people were upset with what she said, and they felt like she was trying to say that one bad thing somehow made another, totally separate issue okay, which just didn’t sit right with a lot of us.
One X user criticized the streamer, saying it felt like they were treating important social issues as just another fleeting trend. The user pointed out that people are capable of caring about multiple things at once.
Valkyrae clarifies her stance on Hasan after reaction goes viral
The issue became so widely discussed that Rae addressed the user directly, acknowledging that people’s anger was reasonable and explaining she regretted how she had phrased things.
She acknowledged that it’s perfectly okay to care about multiple things simultaneously. She also realized her previous response seemed to avoid the main topic and wished she could rephrase it or bring it up later in the conversation.
I’ll address this later in the stream, but I agree that his reaction to her outburst was upsetting, and it’s easy to see why people are worried. It’s definitely possible to be concerned about multiple issues simultaneously. I realize now that my comments might seem like I’m avoiding the main point, and I apologize for that.

Honestly, her statement is getting a lot of different reactions, and it’s just adding fuel to the fire online. Everyone’s talking about it, and it’s the newest thing to really get people going!
Hasan’s broadcast also got the notice of PETA, who encouraged dog owners to reward good behavior and cautioned against using shock collars during training.
