Bandai Namco has also released streaming rules for the Echoes of Aincrad content on the game’s Japanese website. Players are welcome to stream the currently available demo, which lets them experience the beta test portion of the Sword Art Online MMORPG storyline.

After the game launched on consoles in Japan and Asia on July 9th, and on PC and worldwide on July 10th, Bandai Namco will limit access past the first area for about a week. This restriction will be removed on July 18th, allowing all players to stream the entire game freely.

There’s a notable exception to the rules regarding streams of the Death Game Mode. This mode, which is only available on the Very Hard difficulty, will be allowed to be fully streamed from the moment the game launches, according to Bandai Namco.

Bandai Namco is actively supporting streams of the new ‘Death Game Mode’ by inviting public streamers and VTubers to become part of a special “Walkthrough Group.” Interested creators simply need to express their intention to stream the mode during a specific timeframe. Those selected will have their in-game names displayed on a ‘Monument of Life’ and receive a unique ‘NerveGear’ overlay for their streams.
