Marvel is teaming up with The Muppets for a new comic book crossover, bringing Kermit and Miss Piggy together with some of Marvel’s most famous superheroes.
Since its start in 1939, Marvel Comics has occasionally teamed up with other popular franchises. Over the years, characters from properties like Alien (including the Xenomorphs) and Godzilla have appeared in Marvel comics. There have even been crossovers with DC Comics – for example, Captain America once battled Batman in a short comic book series back in 1996.
Marvel is taking things in a strange new direction with its latest announcement: a team-up between heroes like Hulk and Spider-Man and the beloved Muppets.
Marvel x The Muppets crossover sends Miss Piggy to space
Launching in September, “The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1” marks the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show with a series of surprising team-ups between Muppets and Marvel characters.
So far, four stories have been announced, and they’re all incredibly wild. One involves Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear joining forces with Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Wolverine to rescue Rowlf the Dog from the villain Mojo.

One scene features Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker teaming up with Bruce Banner and Hank Pym for some scientific experiments that are bound to fail. Another shows the Swedish Chef attempting to assist Doctor Strange in healing Clea from an unknown sickness.
This story is definitely the strangest one revealed so far: Rocket Raccoon and Groot are unexpectedly hit in space by Captain Link Hogthrob, his first mate Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork.
Combining the worlds of these beloved characters is a big undertaking, and I feel a lot of pressure to do it right,” said Chip Zdarsky, a writer on the project. “I don’t want to disappoint Kermit, Fozzie, and Animal any more than Spider-Man’s creator intended for him to disappoint Uncle Ben.
Seriously, writing for Miss Piggy is a dream come true! She’s such an icon – honestly, one of the biggest of the last century. What’s amazing is how she still connects with people of all ages, and it’s been incredible to work on her character.
While fans anticipate ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ on December 18th, there’s another exciting Marvel team-up coming soon!
