YouTuber Stradman holds back tears after “OG” Lamborghini burns down on street

Okay, so this is pretty crazy – my original Lamborghini Gallardo actually caught fire while I was driving it near my place! It’s seriously damaged, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. It’s a huge bummer, but thankfully I’m okay.

On June 14th, a video was posted to YouTube showing a car on fire by the roadside, with people running to help put it out with fire extinguishers. As the flames grew, the car’s owner, Stradman, said he was extremely shaken up and referred to the vehicle as ‘the OG,’ indicating it was completely destroyed.

For over ten years, the Gallardo has been a signature car on Stradman’s YouTube channel. It was his first supercar, and he’s owned it ever since.

Stradman said he smelled something like gasoline while driving, and then his car started smoking before bursting into flames.

In a video, the driver explained, “I’m not sure what happened, but the car suddenly stopped working and started to smoke. I think there must be a fuel leak.”

Multiple drivers pulled over and helped put out the fire before firefighters and other emergency responders got there. Stradman expressed his gratitude to those who helped, praising them as “legends” for their quick action.

Videos taken by onlookers quickly spread across TikTok after seeing the famous Lamborghini involved in an incident while driving.

Stradman says Lamborghini holds a special place in his life

The day following the crash, Stradman went back to look at his wrecked car and thought about how much the Gallardo meant to him both as a person and for his work. Visibly upset, he admitted, “I’m really trying not to cry. This original car… it’s just gone.”

The YouTuber said this car was one of the first big purchases he made when starting his channel, and it really helped him become successful online.

“I’ve had this car for 11 years, and I have fought so hard trying to keep this car,” he said.

Stradman isn’t sure what started the fire, but thinks a leak of some kind of fluid might be the cause. He’s going to talk to his insurance company to figure out if it’s worth fixing the vehicle or if it’s a total loss.

After a recent incident, he advised people to carry fire extinguishers in their cars, especially those with powerful engines, because he didn’t have one on hand when his vehicle caught fire.

As of now, it’s still unclear what Stradman plans to do with his damaged Gallardo. He hasn’t said if he’ll fix it, let the insurance company total it, or buy it back to potentially restore it later.
