KSI has shared with his fans that he’s been struggling emotionally since leaving the Sidemen group, describing the past few weeks as difficult. He’s mentioned that going to therapy is helping him through it.
KSI revealed on May 31st that he’s stepping back from the Sidemen group. He explained that juggling the demands of filming with the Sidemen, his music, television work, his Prime energy drink business, and spending time with family had become overwhelming.
He admitted things have been difficult lately, and that he hasn’t been feeling his best mentally. However, he’s grateful to be surrounded by supportive friends and family.
It’s easy for people to forget I’m a real person. I try to appear strong and maintain my public persona, but behind the scenes, the negativity online has been really harsh. I know it won’t last forever, and thankfully, therapy has been a big help.
Honestly, things have been pretty rough lately. I haven’t been feeling my best mentally, but thankfully I’ve got a great support system around me. It’s easy for people to forget I’m a real person, you know? I always try to seem strong and put on that ‘gamer face’ – the KSI persona, if you will – but behind the scenes, people online have just been… a lot.

Sidemen’s Tobi says “It’s been difficult for all of us”
Friends of KSI reportedly told The Mirror he’d been planning to leave for months, as early as April. A news story about his potential departure during the Soccer Aid event unexpectedly pushed him to announce his decision in a video sooner than he intended.
A suggestion to have him appear only once every two weeks was apparently rejected, which sparked a series of angry messages from some individuals involved.
New information suggests KSI informed the Sidemen group about his decision to leave a month before it became public. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mirror, KSI felt excluded before his departure, even being forced to stay at a separate hotel during an event. Notably, the group never released a farewell video acknowledging his exit.

I’ve been hearing from people close to him that things got really tough for him in the weeks leading up to leaving. Apparently, he felt pretty isolated – even on work trips! Like, they actually put him in a different hotel than everyone else when they were in Paris. It just sounds like he wasn’t included at all.
On a recent livestream, Tobi from the Sidemen spoke up for a previous member, asking fans to move on and assuring everyone that there are no hard feelings between them.
Tobi shared that there’s no conflict with KSI and asked fans to understand what’s happening. He explained it’s been a tough time for everyone involved, including KSI himself, who is currently going through some challenges. Tobi mentioned he’s been in contact with KSI, offering support and checking in on him.

KSI explained that the main reason for his decision was simply wanting more free time. He’d previously shared his difficulties, and emphasized, “I just wanted my time back.”
KSI is excited about the FIFA World Cup happening in Canada, the US, and Mexico. He announced he’ll be there next month to film some new videos and has “cool things planned.”
