Story
Grandshelt is a peaceful kingdom powered by magical crystals. When the barrier around the sacred Earth Shrine begins to fail, Rain – commander of the kingdom’s airship squadron – is ordered to investigate. He’s joined by his childhood friend and second-in-command, Lasswell. Inside the shrine, they confront a powerful figure in black armor. Despite their best efforts, Rain and Lasswell are defeated, and the Earth Crystal is destroyed. They manage to escape with their lives, but their airship is ruined and many of their friends are lost.
Upon returning, Rain and Lasswell discovered Grandshelt was under attack by a heavily armored man—Veritas of the Dark. They were able to save the king, but were soundly defeated. To safeguard the remaining Crystals, Rain and Lasswell embarked on a quest to find Veritas of the Dark, accompanied by Fina, a mysterious girl they’d met in Grandshelt. Little did they know the difficult journey that lay ahead.

Gameplay Systems
Combat
A faithful evolution of classic turn-based battles
The traditional turn-based battles in Final Fantasy have been updated to be easier to learn and offer more strategic options. Battles now feature a timeline that shows you exactly when both your characters and your enemies will act, letting you plan ahead for the next turn.
Stagger Gauge & Elemental Weaknesses
When you fill up the stagger meter below an enemy’s health bar, it will stun them, skipping their turn and making them easier to damage. Dealing damage that matches an enemy’s weakness fills this meter faster.
Visions
Finish quests and interactions with characters to earn visions – special items that capture the essence of those characters.
Give Rain and his teammates special items that increase their strengths, improve their skills, and let them do even more powerful things.

Resonances
Stagger enemies dramatically, then finish your attack sequence with a special move unique to your current vision. These moves aren’t just about dealing lots of damage; they can also provide helpful effects like area-of-effect attacks or boosts to your abilities.
Party Formation & Progression
Tailor your team for any challenge by switching party members and equipping different visions. These visions boost your abilities and stats, giving you a big edge in battles and dungeons. Carefully building up both your characters and their visions is key to success, so think strategically about how you equip them.
Synergies from Equipped Abilities
After you unlock an ability by seeing it in action, you can still use it even if you’ve switched to a different ‘vision,’ as long as you have enough resources. This means you can combine abilities from various visions for unique and strong effects. It’s a revamped version of the job system found in Final Fantasy games, designed to be easier to understand and more flexible.
Embark on a Journey Across the World Aboard an Airship
Embark on a journey where you’ll gain control of an airship, letting you explore the world and discover new locations. Rain and his friends will need to use their airship to reach many challenging dungeons and battle formidable enemies.

The Music of Final Fantasy Resonance
The music for the game was created by Elements Garden, with Noriyasu Agematsu leading the composition and arrangement. It features 33 new songs, as well as music previously used in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
