ZA/UM reveals Zero Parades: For Dead Spies patch roadmap

ZA/UM has shared a plan for future updates to their game, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies. The roadmap details upcoming features and summarizes the improvements and bug fixes they’ve already released since the game launched.

ZA/UM is adding features players have asked for, such as a quick language switch, better inventory management, and improved performance. They’ve also released a new update with more voice acting. You can find our detailed review here and my personal impressions about playing on handheld PCs here. Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is out now on PC (Steam & GOG), and will be coming to PlayStation 5 later this year.

Thanks for sticking with us as we’ve been working hard on the game! This update fixes a number of problems players have reported, including:

Voiceover

  • We’ve added more voiceover lines and fixed issues where the audio didn’t quite match the dialogue. We’ll have another update with more improvements soon.

Localization

  • We updated the font used for titles in Simplified Chinese to make them easier to read, after hearing suggestions from our users.

Gameplay

  • Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I fixed a problem where some of us were getting stuck on the “Who Cares About The Moon?” quest – we couldn’t hand in those developed photos to Ignatz! It’s all sorted now. Just be aware this fix won’t work if you already had that issue happen, but it definitely won’t stop you from continuing with the game.

  • Fixed a bug in Eszti’s apartment that could freeze the game after saving during nighttime.

  • We fixed a bug that made it difficult for some players to move around while using the flashlight, especially in the Palace of Culture. We’re also planning more improvements for that area in our next update.

  • Further adjustments to the King of Trade’s cigarette changing logic

Notable Fixes / Additions

  • This update resolves game crashes and improves performance, especially for players using the Steam Deck or those with less powerful computers.

  • Resolved the issue of the Skill Check result modal remaining on screen.

  • We’ve made improvements to how controls work to fix issues like the mouse becoming unresponsive after using it for a long time. This addresses problems with the control scheme changing unexpectedly.

  • We’ve adjusted how difficult active skill checks are at the start of the game. This change, based on your feedback, aims to make them fairer and give everyone a better chance of success.

You can find information about known problems and instructions for reporting bugs in our pinned discussion post. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we’ll keep you updated on the next update!

Support for ZERO PARADES continues even after the game launched. ZA/UM has already released two updates to fix problems players found and add improvements that fans requested. The developers plan to keep releasing updates regularly in the coming weeks.

The latest update released on Day 7 (you can find the full details here) added voice lines that were missing and corrected discrepancies between what characters say and what’s written in the game. We also listened to player feedback and updated the map menu to display opening hours for locations you’ve already found.

The latest update, released on Day 14 (you can find the full patch notes here), includes missing voice lines for Melita, Karolina, and Ultra Violeta. It also adds two features players have been asking for: you can now choose dialogue options using number keys, and quickly save (by pressing F5) and load (F9) your game.

The development team is actively working on upcoming updates for the game. These include features requested by players, such as the ability to instantly switch between any two languages, enhancements to the inventory system with new filters, and a preview of status effects before they’re applied. The game will also receive optimizations to improve performance and overall technical improvements.

ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies, rated M for Mature, is available now for $39.99 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. It will also be released on PlayStation 5 later in 2024.
