Motor City Comic Con takes place annually in Novi, Michigan. Like many comic conventions worldwide, it’s a celebration of pop culture. While it started as a comics-focused event, over the past thirty years it has grown to include film, TV, gaming, anime, wrestling, science fiction, and other related genres.
As a huge movie and TV fan, I’m really excited about Motor City Comic Con this year! The schedule is packed with panels dedicated to all the big franchises I love. And even better, the team at ScreenRant will be there on the ground in Michigan, covering all the major announcements and, most importantly, talking to fellow fans about what they’re passionate about. It’s going to be awesome!
I’m really excited for Motor City Comic Con this weekend! ScreenRant is going to be there hosting panels again, and I’m especially looking forward to hearing from some of the biggest names in entertainment – both legends and current stars. They’ll be talking about their careers, what inspires them, and what cool projects they have coming up. Liam Crowley from ScreenRant is moderating some of them, so I’m definitely checking those out. Here’s a rundown of the biggest panels you won’t want to miss!
ScreenRant Will Be Running Some Major Panels At Motor City Comic Con
The ScreenRant team will be at Motor City Comic Con! Reporter Liam Crowley will be hosting and leading discussions with some of the convention’s biggest stars throughout the three-day event. Attendees can catch him moderating several panels.
Liam will be hosting two panel discussions in the Platinum room on Friday, May 15th. At 3:00 PM, actor and stuntman Sala Baker, famous for playing Sauron in the Lord of the Rings movies, will talk about his work in popular franchises. Then, at 4:30 PM, Nolan North will be on stage to discuss his most well-known voice acting roles, which will be exciting for fans of animation and video games.
Join Liam and comic creator Sean Peacock on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 AM in Legacy I for the “All Sorrows” panel, where they’ll guide you through making your own comic. Then, at 12:30 PM, also in Legacy I, hear from veteran comic artists Rick Leonardi and Sam De La Rosa as they share stories about their careers.
Wrestling enthusiasts shouldn’t miss Liam’s interview with Kane on Saturday at 3:00 PM in Legacy V-VIII. Kane, who went from professional wrestling to a career in politics, has a fascinating story and promises a compelling conversation about his life and career.
Join Liam in Platinum at 4:30 PM as he talks with voice actors Zach Aguilar and Abby Trott about the characters they’re best known for. Wrestling fans can also catch Liam on Sunday, May 17th, starting at 11:00 AM in Platinum, where he’ll be speaking with iconic wrestling commentators Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross. Later that day, at 2:30 PM in Legacy I, he’ll chat with Michael Kingston from Headlocked Comics.
Don’t miss the panel with stars of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Hayley Atwell and Esai Morales, on Sunday at 12:30 PM in Legacy V-VIII! They’ll be discussing what it takes to make a blockbuster film and the hurdles they face. For movie lovers, this is easily one of the most anticipated panels at Motor City Comic Con this year.
The Other Big Panels To Check Out At Motor City Comic-Con
I’m really excited to follow ScreenRant’s coverage of Liam’s panels, but there’s so much else happening this weekend! I definitely don’t want to miss Jessica McNamee, the star of Mortal Kombat II, who’s going to be talking about her work in action movies – and her latest big hit – on Friday in Legacy V-VIII.
Motor City Comic Con will feature two can’t-miss panels for fans of Game of Thrones. Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, will be at the Diamond Center on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Then, on Sunday at 2:00 PM, Lena Headey will be in Legacy V-VIII to talk about her role as Cersei Lannister.
If you enjoy comedy, don’t miss Patrick Warburton at Legacy V-Viii this Saturday at 4:30 PM – he’s been a hilarious presence in both animated and live-action shows for years! Comic book fans can also meet writers Scott Snyder and Stephanie Phillips at Cornerstone IV on Saturday at 5:30 PM for a longer discussion.
Saturday is packed with exciting events for superhero enthusiasts! Before the final episode of The Boys airs, stars Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, and Shawn Ashmore will be at Diamond at 3:30 PM. Later, at 7:30 PM, Charlie Cox, who stars in Daredevil: Born Again, will participate in a special panel discussion. With Daredevil: Born Again season one ending on a major cliffhanger, Marvel fans won’t want to miss what he has to say.
This Sunday, fans of Star Wars are in for a special event! John Boyega and Billie Lourd will be at the Diamond Ballroom at 11:30 AM to discuss the latest Star Wars films. Later, at 12:30 PM in Platinum, Selma Blair will share stories about her most memorable roles. And at 1:00 PM back at the Diamond Ballroom, Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch, stars of Superman & Lois, will come together to talk about the show and its impact.
I’m so excited for Motor City Comic Con! Beyond the main events, they’ve got huge panels with stars I’ve admired for years, like William Shatner, and incredible comic artists like Simon Bisley. Plus, there’s so much more – fan gatherings, gaming competitions, amazing cosplay, and of course, Artist Alley where you can find unique art. Honestly, if you’re into pop culture at all, you’re guaranteed to have a blast!
