Good news for fans of Severance: Season 3 is starting production very soon, according to star Adam Scott.
Fans of the show Severance had to wait a long time for Season 2. The first season ended in April 2022, and the new episodes didn’t premiere until January 2025.
The release was delayed both by the 2023 writers and actors strikes, and by the creative team’s dedication to quality. Writer and showrunner Dan Erickson and director Ben Stiller were particularly focused on even the smallest details.
Okay, so we’ve all been dying to know about Season 3 of Severance, right? Well, Adam Scott just let slip in an interview that filming is starting up again really soon! It’s been tough getting any info, but that’s a huge relief to hear.

Adam Scott recently told Deadline (as reported by Yahoo) that the creators of Severance prioritize making a high-quality show over rushing production. He said they’re always working to reduce the wait between seasons, but ensuring the show is excellent is their main goal.
Scott stated they’re aiming to release Season 3 much faster than the previous season, which took three years – a timeframe they consider too long.
I’m so excited! He just let slip that they’re starting to film the new episodes really soon! I tried to get him to tell me anything about what’s coming, but he wouldn’t give anything away. He said if he did, it would ruin the surprise, and I totally get that!
We do know the show will be back for a fourth season, and Apple is exploring the possibility of creating additional shows set in the same world.
