Onion Games has revealed that the English version of Stray Children will be released globally on October 30. The RPG will be playable on both Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam.
This announcement indicates that players around the world won’t have to wait much longer to play the game, with a release expected around the end of this month. Just to clarify, Onion Games first launched Stray Children in Japan last year on December 26th. Initially, it was only available on the Switch. However, when Onion Games announced a follow-up release for PC via Steam, they also stated that this version would be offered in both Japanese and English.
【About Stray Children】
Stray Children is a touching RPG, like a fairytale, developed by the independent studio Onion Games in Tokyo. The team is famous for bringing back moon: Remix RPG Adventure in 2021-the original game came out in 1997. Many of the people working on Stray Children also helped create that beloved and emotionally resonant classic.
The talented team at Onion Games, known for their work on popular games like Chulip, Little King’s Story, Rule of Rose, and Super Mario RPG, have also created some truly unique titles. These include the challenging rogue-lite puzzle game Dandy Dungeon, the dramatic side-scrolling shooter Black Bird, the simple yet charming one-button arcade game Mon Amour, and the delightfully chaotic mobile game Million Onion Hotel.
【The Story】
In a hidden room, tucked away in a secret location, a young boy activates a vintage game console covered in dust. Immediately, he’s transported through the screen and finds himself in a bizarre and unfamiliar world – a retro role-playing game that was never officially launched and has since been lost to time.
I was immediately hooked! The story starts with this guy waking up in a world populated entirely by Children. But it’s not all fun and games – there’s a real threat looming. Outside the kids’ safe haven are The Olders, and they’re seriously creepy. They’re basically adults, but not in a good way. The book explains they’re weighed down by all the stuff grown-ups carry around – you know, their insecurities, doubts, and all the other things that make being an adult so tough. It’s a really interesting concept – like all their baggage has turned them into monsters! Definitely a unique premise.
It’s here — in this funny, mysterious, and wildly dangerous domain — that your story begins.
