Supergirl’s Upcoming Solo Movie Might Finally Do Her Justice

As a huge film fan, it’s been wild watching the DC Universe change! The old DC Extended Universe officially wrapped up in 2023, and now James Gunn, who’s really taken the reins at DC Studios, is building something totally new. He even directed the first film, Superman, and is planning to direct more! Honestly, this rebooted DC Universe – the DCU – feels like it’s off to a much stronger start than the previous attempt.

This new Supergirl film is a fresh start, unlike her previous movies which were connected to universes already ending. DC Studios has a lot of potential going forward, and this film could be a big success, even if other superhero movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day don’t fully revitalize the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ultimately, this movie offers a new and promising approach to telling stories about Kryptonians.

The upcoming Supergirl movie will focus on a grander, more cosmic storyline, moving away from the typical superhero elements seen in Superman films.
