On May 2nd, the streaming group CORE experienced a disruption during a live broadcast when they were the target of a ‘swatting’ incident at their new content creation space.
A new content creator group, CORE, formed in late April, bringing together former FaZe Clan members like Adapt, Silky, Jason, Lacy, Marlon, and Ron. They gained immediate attention by revealing a $20 million content house and plans to collaborate on streams.
Before the swatting incident, the group’s launch already hit a snag. Shortly after their debut, CORE’s YouTube channel was temporarily taken down when Google’s automated security system flagged numerous logins. YouTube quickly resolved the problem, and the channel was restored.

CORE swatting incident unfolds live for viewers
CORE’s initial day of live streaming from the house was interrupted on May 2nd when police showed up while they were broadcasting, and viewers witnessed the event as it happened.
CORE shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing people leaving a house with their hands up while police surrounded it. The video also seemed to show officers with rifles on a hill overlooking the property.
Marlon said the police came because someone falsely reported that people were being held captive in the basement.
Marlon explained that the swatting incident occurred after someone falsely reported hostages were being held in the basement. During the police search, they also discovered two kids attempting to trespass on the property. He mentioned they were actually climbing the hill towards the house while everything was unfolding.

It was crazy – while the police were searching, I heard from Marlon that there were even these two kids trying to sneak onto the property, climbing up the mountain! Apparently, other people who weren’t supposed to be there were trying to get in too.
Swatting is a dangerous prank where someone falsely reports an emergency, causing armed police to be sent to another person’s address. It’s been a recurring problem for popular online streamers, and sometimes these incidents even happen while they’re broadcasting live to a large audience.
Thankfully, everything seems to be okay now. Marlon mentioned the police talked to him, and once the misunderstanding was sorted out, they were able to resume streaming without any further problems.
The start of CORE has been a bit messy, but the team is still drawing a lot of online attention as fans watch to see how the creators, formerly of FaZe, adjust to life in their new shared home.
