Okay, so as a huge Pokémon fan, I’ve been seeing everyone talk about this crazy theory! Apparently, a recent post from Pokopia might have accidentally shown a brand new, yellow version of Shellos for the upcoming Winds and Waves DLC. And get this – somehow, this whole thing has led people to connect it back to Barack Obama! It’s a wild ride, but the evidence is surprisingly compelling, and everyone’s losing it trying to figure out how it all fits together.
Shellos is a unique Pokémon known for its distinct regional variations. This sea slug Pokémon comes in two different colors – pink and blue – depending on where it lives. The pink form is found in the West Sea, while the blue form appears in the East Sea.
A recent discovery related to Pokopia has sparked speculation among fans that Game Freak might be planning to introduce a brand new color variation in the next generation of Pokémon games, Generation 10.
Okay, so this is super cool! Pokopia just hinted at a new Pokémon in Winds and Waves that’s totally inspired by Barack Obama! I know it sounds crazy, but they showed off a yellow Shellos, and it’s based on a real sea slug called Placida barackobamai. Apparently, scientists discovered this bright yellow sea slug with black spines back in 2017, and now it’s becoming a Pokémon! I’m really excited to see how they incorporate that into the game.

Yellow Shellos clue in Pokopia could be connected to Obama
According to information in the game, Shellos changes color and how it looks depending on what it eats and where it lives.
They explained that they’re working tirelessly to develop a completely new, yellow version of Shellos.
This quickly sparked excitement among Pokémon fans because there isn’t currently a yellow Shellos in any of the main Pokémon games. Players think this hint might mean a new form for the Pokémon Winds and Waves is coming, unless a yellow Shellos is hidden somewhere in the Pokopia region.
The idea gained even more traction when Bulbagarden highlighted the real-life existence of a yellow sea slug called Placida barackobamai. Officially identified in 2017, it was named after Barack Obama to honor his dedication to environmental protection and conservation, particularly his work expanding the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument in Hawaii.
Looks like a pokemon might be getting something new in Gen 10

Okay, so I just saw this super cute sea slug from Hawaii – it’s tiny and bright orange-yellow with dark little bits sticking out. Honestly, it looks exactly like it could be a new form for Shellos or Gastrodon! With the game focusing on regional animals now, it’d be a perfect fit, don’t you think? I’m really hoping the developers see this little guy and get inspired!
Fans have pointed out an interesting connection: Barack Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, and some believe this might have influenced the setting and themes of Winds and Waves, given the show’s focus on that region.
Currently, it hasn’t been officially announced whether yellow Shellos will be in the Winds and Waves game. However, Pokopia’s reference to an “unknown yellow Shellos” has led fans to believe it’s one of the most unusual and detailed hints about the upcoming Generation 10 Pokémon so far.
