Chipotle announces $2 million burrito giveaway for teachers and healthcare workers

Chipotle is once again hosting its yearly giveaway, providing up to $2 million in free burritos to teachers and healthcare workers.

To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses Week, the company is giving away up to 200,000 free meal vouchers as e-gift cards.

Entries are now open and will run through May 12, with winners set to be notified shortly after.

Chipotle is giving away up to $2 million in free meals by randomly selecting 100,000 teachers and 100,000 healthcare workers to receive e-gift cards for a free entrée.

To participate, teachers and healthcare workers need to register on Chipotle’s special websites before the entry period ends. Winners will then be asked to confirm they work in these fields using ID.me.

If you verify your entry within 48 hours, you’ll get a free appetizer or entrée, and we’ll start sending out notifications on May 13th. If a winner doesn’t complete the verification process, we’ll select another winner to take their place.

Chipotle explained that this program is a continuation of its efforts to show appreciation, having already provided over $16 million worth of free meals to teachers and healthcare workers since 2016.

During National Nurses Week, Chipotle customers have another way to show their appreciation: they can round up their order total in the app or on the website. This small donation will benefit the American Nurses Foundation and help fund important programs for nursing education, leadership development, and improved patient care.

This contest comes after Chipotle’s recent hockey-themed promotion, where customers could get a free entrée with the purchase of another to mark important events in the sport.
