How to Get All Gun Upgrades in REPLACED

Playing as Warren Marsh in REPLACED, you’ll face tougher and tougher enemies as you try to return to Phoenix-City and the lab. You’re mostly on your own with limited weapons, so upgrading them is crucial for survival both in and outside the city.

Luckily, REPLACED offers lots of ways to upgrade your weapons, helping you take on the toughest enemies. Finding these upgrades usually means exploring the game world carefully. Here’s a guide to locating every gun upgrade in the game.

How Gun Upgrades Work in REPLACED

As a big fan of REPLACED, I’m really excited about the Gun Upgrades! They’re collectibles hidden throughout the levels that make both your gun and pickaxe even more powerful. Think of them like finding Health or Med-Stims, but there aren’t quite as many. It seems like most of the upgrades focus on improving your gun, with only one specifically for the pickaxe, which is a little disappointing but still cool!

Landing melee attacks on enemies gives you more energy, which fills your meter for special gunfire and overdrive abilities. Collecting every gun upgrade – even the one for your pickaxe – will also unlock the “Top Gear” achievement.

All Gun Upgrade Locations in REPLACED

In REPLACED, you can find six different upgrades for your guns. Here’s a complete list detailing where to find each one and what benefits it offers.

Chapter 3

Water Treatment Plant – Steam Room

  • Kinetic Inductor 1 – Energy gain per hit increased

You can find this upgrade in the water treatment plant area, inside the large room with the steam puzzle. Head to the right side of the room, then down towards the bottom. Look for a metal grate in the back corner – the upgrade is lying on top of it.

Chapter 4

Arcade Mini-Game Reward

  • Kinetic Inductor 2 – Energy gain per hit increased

If you achieve the highest score on the Jumper arcade game at Western Station, you’ll automatically receive an upgrade as a reward. Just talk to Susan afterward, and she’ll give it to you.

Excalibur Quest Reward

  • Reduction Gear – Pickaxe now generates Energy

You’ll automatically get the final pickaxe upgrade after finishing the optional side quest for Excalibur at Western Station.

Chapter 5

Abandoned Building in Field

  • Kinetic Inductor 4 – Energy gain per hit increased

You’ll find this upgrade inside a crumbling building in the fields near Phoenix-City, during the part where you’re sneaking past the security drones. After you climb down into the grass, turn around and head left into the lower level of the building. You’ll see the ‘A View to Die For’ music track first, and the upgrade is located at the very end of the passage on the left.

Chapter 6

Second Floor Balcony at Facility

  • Kinetic Inductor 3 – Energy gain per hit increased

You’ll find this upgrade early in the chapter at a building with big blue and white pipes. To get inside, you’ll need to get past a steam puzzle out front – use your double jump to clear the steam vents and land on the lower balcony on the right side of the building. Go inside the hidden room to your right, then drop down to the room below. The upgrade is located on a console against the wall down there.

  • Kinetic Inductor 5 – Energy gain per hit increased

To get the last gun upgrade, you’ll need to hack your way into the battery storage room. Once inside, you’ll find the upgrade sitting on a shelf.
