Hey everyone, if you’re a fan of the Bodycam shooter games like I am, you’re going to be excited! A new game is coming out, and it’s coming much sooner than I thought it would!
MicroProse and Monte Gallo have announced that their tactical first-person shooter, Better Than Dead—set in the tight, maze-like streets of Hong Kong—will be available in Early Access starting May 12th. Get ready to jump in!
A new, intense trailer was released alongside the announcement, showcasing the game’s realistic and gritty world. The game will initially be available only on PC through Steam. Watch the trailer below to get a feel for the suspense!
Hong Kong as a Canvas for Revenge

Okay, so the basic idea behind Better Than Dead is really cool. You play as someone who’s just done with hiding and being scared. She’s had enough! Armed with only a pistol and a list of people she wants revenge on, she goes after them. It’s a pretty intense setup, honestly.
The first-person bodycam perspective isn’t just a stylistic choice here—it’s central to the story. The main character uses a bodycam in the game, and everything she does—every move, every shot, every enemy defeated—is recorded as evidence to uncover the truth behind her past trauma. It’s like a blend of Kill Bill‘s action and the dark, realistic feel of Sleeping Dogs.
This is the story of a woman who’s done hiding. After years of running, she’s decided to take matters into her own hands, armed with a gun and a list of people she intends to confront.
This game tells a story of revenge set in a stunningly realistic Hong Kong. The city’s environments are inspired by classic action movies from the 80s and 90s, promising intense and chaotic action in places like vibrant restaurants and rain-soaked streets.

As a fan, I’ve been reading up on the gameplay, and it sounds intense. Apparently, the gunfights are super fast and you really have to be on your toes – it’s not a game where you can just wander around and take your time. It’s all about the action, with each level feeling like a focused mission with a clear start and finish. They’re really prioritizing that high-pressure, in-your-face combat experience, and it sounds amazing!
Just a heads-up, you might want to get your playlist ready and grab some energy drinks because I’m super excited to tell you that Better Than Dead is coming to Steam Early Access on May 12th! I’m already planning my first playthrough.
