Bandai Namco has announced the target resolution and frame rate for Digimon Story: Time Stranger on the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, according to their official Japanese website.
According to the official website, the new Switch 2 will be capable of 4K resolution with HDR at up to 30 frames per second when connected to a TV (docked). In handheld mode, it will display in 1080p with HDR, also at up to 30fps. A ‘performance mode’ will prioritize smoother gameplay at up to 60fps in both docked and handheld modes, but won’t support HDR. Currently, the Switch 2 is the only platform confirmed to offer HDR visuals in its quality mode. Bandai Namco has announced that performance mode options are also being added to PlayStation 5 and Xbox, though the resolution for those versions hasn’t been revealed yet.

Currently, both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles run games at 30 frames per second. The upcoming Switch 2, in its quality mode, and the original Switch are listed as running at up to 30 frames per second, suggesting it doesn’t consistently hit that rate. The original Switch aims for 1080p resolution and up to 30fps when docked, and 720p resolution with the same frame rate in handheld mode.
