Hailee Steinfeld is becoming increasingly popular in both movies and television. Known for her work in Pitch Perfect, she’s taken on diverse roles in both well-known franchises and new projects. 2025 was a standout year, with Sinners becoming a massive hit. In the film, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan (who won his first Oscar for Best Actor), Steinfeld played the character Mary.
I’ve been a fan of Sabrina Carpenter for years, and I love seeing her in everything from live-action shows to animated movies! I was so excited to hear she’s going to be the lead in Disney’s Hexed, which comes out November 25th. But that’s not all – it sounds like another one of her really popular animated characters is also making a comeback soon, which is awesome!
It’s been almost three years since Hailee Steinfeld joined Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and now the popular Marvel movie – which earned an Academy Award nomination and made $690 million worldwide – will be available to stream. Starting May 1st, subscribers in the United States can watch it on HBO Max. Warner Bros. Discovery says this is great timing for fans of the Spider-Verse franchise.
Spider-Man fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months! Nicolas Cage is reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir – a character he previously voiced in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – in a new live-action TV show coming to Prime Video. This version of Spider-Man Noir will be a unique take on the character, as Cage will be playing Ben Reilly. Interestingly, the creative team behind the animated Spider-Verse films, Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, are also involved with this new live-action series, connecting the two projects.
Tom Holland is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Sony and Marvel have announced that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31st. This will be the last Marvel film before Phase 6 concentrates on finishing The Multiverse Saga with Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Meanwhile, Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Kate Bishop (Hawkeye), remains a key part of the MCU, even though she isn’t currently playing Spider-Woman.
Fans can stream Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on HBO Max this May. The news comes shortly after a preview of the next film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was shown at CinemaCon. Hailee Steinfeld will reprise her role as Gwen Stacy in the third movie, which is scheduled for release in theaters on June 18, 2027, and is currently being filmed.
After the ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and her appearance in Beyond the Spider-Verse, Hailee Steinfeld might not be finished playing Spider-Woman. Sony is developing a Spider-Verse spin-off film focusing on female heroes, and Steinfeld’s character is expected to be a central figure.
As of today, there’s no official release date for the spin-off movie, as it’s still being developed. Steinfeld hasn’t revealed much about her character Kate’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including whether she’ll appear in future Avengers films.
Catch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse starting on May 1 on HBO Max in the United States.
