Helena Bonham Carter is leaving The White Lotus season 4. According to Deadline, creative differences led to her early departure. Production on the new season started last week, but it became clear during filming that the character written for Bonham Carter wasn’t working out, an HBO spokesperson told Vulture. The role is being rewritten and will be played by another actress. Everyone involved is disappointed that they won’t be working with Bonham Carter on this season, but they hope to collaborate with her on a future project.
Season four of the show introduces a new set of wealthy guests staying at luxurious hotels in France – specifically, Château de la Messardière and Hôtel Martinez – during the Cannes Film Festival. Expect to see plenty of famous actors, directors, and industry professionals as they navigate the festival and try to get their projects off the ground. While some scenes are filmed in Paris, the main story unfolds at the two resorts. As always, the stunning hotel locations are a highlight of the experience.
