A small, cute robot designed to sit in your bag and ‘peek’ at you has been launched, and it’s quickly becoming popular online.
Mirumi, created by Yukai Engineering, is a little robot designed to respond to sounds, touch, and its environment by moving in a cute, childlike way.
It attaches to your bag and subtly observes its surroundings, sometimes turning to look around or responding to sounds.
A small, adorable robot debuted in Japan on April 23rd, costing around $124. It’s available in pink, gray, and ivory, and is quickly becoming popular with collectors of cute items.
New Labubu rival appears
While the popular Labubu brand focuses on playfully quirky monsters, Mirumi is all about pure cuteness. This adorable creature doesn’t move on its own, but it reacts to head pats and turns towards sounds – though its response depends on how it’s feeling at the moment.
This small robot has a personality much like Pikachu from the original Pokémon cartoon – it can be very cheerful, or completely aloof. If it’s feeling grumpy, it will turn its back and pretend you don’t exist.
The robot has become incredibly popular online because of how realistically it interacts with people, with many users sharing their fascination with it.

One person commented that it was incredibly cute, praising its elegant ivory color and realistic, calming neck movements, and suggesting it would be a fun bag accessory. Another playfully responded that even seeing it would be overwhelmingly adorable, causing a total emotional overload!
Yukai Engineering doesn’t just create adorable animal-themed gadgets. They’re also the creators of Qoobo, a cushion that wags its tail, and Amagami Ham Ham, a soft robot that playfully nibbles your finger.
The core idea behind Mirumi’s design is to tap into our natural desire to nurture something small and to create a heartwarming experience for users.

Yukai Engineering builds robots designed to foster human connection and spark joy. They aim to recreate those heartwarming, spontaneous moments – like a baby waving back at you or sharing a smile with a stranger – that remind us we’re all connected.
Mirumi aims to bring joy through small, charming actions that are sure to make you and others smile.
Right now, you can only buy Mirumi in Japan, but their website says a US store is coming soon. That means you might be able to add it to your collection of fun items like animatronic Pokémon or large Umamusume stuffed animals.
