In 2040, the starship Event Horizon vanished. Seven years later, it reappeared, but it was now controlled by a demonic force. After killing the crew sent to investigate, the ship was destroyed. Only the front section remained, still seemingly searching for its core component – a special gravity drive that allowed travel between dimensions. Now, two centuries later, a wealthy billionaire has arrived at the wreckage near Neptune with his own fleet of ships. Driven by rumors surrounding the Event Horizon, he’s willing to risk the lives of his employees to unlock its hidden knowledge.
The film follows the crew of the Lewis & Clark as they investigate the Event Horizon, a spaceship powered by a revolutionary gravity drive designed by Dr. William G. “Billy” Weir. Once aboard, the crew quickly encounters terrifying visions, disturbing discoveries, and powerful, incomprehensible evil forces.
Event Horizon Also Has A Prequel Comic Series
In 2025, IDW Publishing surprised and delighted fans of Event Horizon with a prequel comic series. The five-issue run was a huge success, earning excellent reviews and impressive sales.
Ward recently shared his excitement about both series, saying he was surprised by the huge success of Dark Descent and is now happy to continue the Event Horizon story with Event Horizon: Inferno. They previously explored the events leading up to the movie, and now they’re delving into what happened afterward.
Event Horizon: Inferno #1 from IDW Publishing is on sale now.
