Air Force responds after pilot’s bizarre flight patterns go viral

The Finnish Air Force is investigating after trainee pilots flew aircraft in patterns that looked like penises. Images of the flight paths quickly spread online.

On April 13th, during a training exercise near Jyväskylä, the Finnish Air Force noticed unusual, poorly defined shapes in the sky while monitoring flight paths on Flightradar.

So, I was reading an article on Yle, and apparently there was a training exercise going on. It sounds like at least four planes were involved, and all the pilots were actually reserve officers getting some extra training. Pretty cool to see them keeping those skills sharp!

Cadet pilots face discipline after viral flight stunt

Flight records indicate the planes were practicing routine maneuvers in a specified area, and these flight paths coincidentally formed the shapes that have since gone viral.

The Air Force has stated the pilots were trainee cadets and are facing potential disciplinary action. They’ve also begun an internal investigation to determine what happened.

According to a Finnish Air Force spokesperson, the aircraft stayed within its designated training area and followed the planned flight exercises without straying from its course.

The Air Force also stated that its personnel are expected to be respectful and follow proper conduct, and any violations will be handled accordingly.

Despite the unusual flight paths, officials confirmed the planes never posed a risk to other aircraft and stayed within the designated training area.

If you’re into weird and wonderful stuff about flying, you should definitely look up this airline in New Zealand. They’ve got some seriously cool ideas about helping passengers get comfortable and sleep on long flights!
