The Toronto Blue Jays are making headlines again, but this time it’s not about their baseball performance. After a World Series run last season, people are now talking about the food they’re offering at games.
Baseball games are known for their over-the-top food, and many teams are now offering incredibly indulgent, and often unhealthy, menu options.
The Colorado Rockies baseball team introduced a massive new food item: The Glizzilla – a two-foot-long hot dog smothered in mac and cheese.
The New York Yankees are now offering a unique treat: fried chicken that’s surprisingly ice cream, complete with a chocolate “bone” inside.
The Toronto Blue Jays are getting a lot of attention for their unique Cotton Candy Fries, which were first introduced last year and are proving to be a big hit with fans as the new season begins.
Baseball fans shocked by Blue Jays’ cotton candy fries
A bizarre food item containing blue mayonnaise and cotton candy was shared on X by the popular account SportScran, leaving fans puzzled.
“Just because it can exist doesn’t mean it should exist,” one commented.

“Another reason we don’t fly to North America,” joked airline Ryanair.
“You may live to see manmade horrors beyond your comprehension,” someone else chimed in.
The best thing about these cotton candy fries, if you can even call it that, is the price. They cost $12.49 Canadian, which works out to less than $10 for Americans – a great deal, especially considering how expensive food usually is at a baseball game.
Still, those who have tried it have warned against it.
Okay, so Liz from the Jay Bird Watching Podcast just warned us – apparently, they tried a sauce that was garlic flavored…and paired with cotton candy! Like, actual crunchy cotton candy. She was basically saying, ‘Don’t even try it!’ It sounds…interesting, to say the least.

She also had a few ideas, suggesting sweet potato fries could be a good addition if they removed the cotton candy.
Thankfully, the team didn’t try to call this dish poutine – at least not for Canadian fans! There’s been plenty of debate about poutine already this season, ever since the Boston Red Sox introduced their ‘Lobstah Poutine’.
